Taunton Friends of the Earth has been campaigning on GM issues since the relaunch of the group in 1999. The group was instrumental in Somerset County Council declaring Somerset a GM free zone. Activities on this issue have included street stalls petitions demonstrations and intense lobbying of politicians. The group remains committed and active in its opposition to the commercialization of GM.
